About me
Spinaway Farm is settled on 150 acres in PA. We raised French angora rabbits and cross bred sheep for their fiber. I have been a fiber artist for over 15 years and classify myself as a handspinner and hand dyer. I make unique hand spun yarns from my own fiber and fibers that I acquire as locally as I can, as well as hand dye on commercial bases of yarn and combed top. Many of my bases are sourced so uniquely that they are not available to anyone else, which makes my offerings in my booth drastically different from other vendors. I take pride in being in the minority as a male fiber artist in a female dominated world and always push the boundaries of my fiber art to discover and develop new spinning and dye techniques. I have been working with many knit and crochet designers to make samples using my yarns and also been dedicated to my drum carder where I am now making art batts, art roving and art rolags as my most recent new products. in 2012 I won best in show handmade at the NYSW skein and garment competition with my handspun wensleydale tail spun yarn. I have a wonderful following on social media including Facebook and TikTok and would love the opportunity to be able to showcase my unique and often one of a kind dye lots and bases to the New York Sheep and Wool Festival. Please also see my Facebook and website for additional pictures and videos of my products. Self-raised
